We're Havin' A Heat Wave! A Tropical Heat Wave...Not Really...Just A Giveaway!

**********Comments Are Closed**********

I'm having a giveaway today just to have one! No bad ideas to guess, all you have to do is just leave a comment! And the topic? What else...weddings!

Leave a comment about weddings. It can be a favorite memory of your wedding or even someone else's. Maybe it's something from a royal wedding or a sibling's ceremony. Your neighbor's granddaughter's wedding or the recent Kardashian circus wedding.

One of my favorite things about a wedding was something special Mark and I did at the end of our ceremony. Before we walked down the aisle, we each gave a long stemmed rose to our mothers. Mark gave one to my mother and I gave one to his. Just a way of saying we were truly family now.

Another special moment happened at our friends Kara and George's wedding. The entire wedding party was in place and before the bride came down the aisle, the bride's brother, who was performing the ceremony, instructed the groom about his new role as her husband. When he finished, he told the groom to turn and "behold your bride". And there she was, waiting to walk down the aisle to him. Wow.

Or seeing the groom's first initial beaded onto the train of the bride's gown. That was pretty neat. Ok, so I wasn't there in person for that wedding.

It was Fergie and Prince Andrew's wedding.

And we all know how that turned out.

But still, I really liked the monogram.

So what's been a favorite part of a wedding for you?

Someone's special vows? The cake being smushed into the groom's face? Cute flower girls and ring bearers? Just name it!

And here's the prize!

(1) one $25 VISA gift card

Just leave a comment (just one!) and when time is up, I'll pick a winner out of the hat. It's just that easy!

  1. Ok, Deb, my flowers girl practiced and practiced throwing the rose petels when we walked in. She was so very proud, but the thing was when she practiced at home she had to pick them back up (they were fake if you were confused) anyway, when we were ready to walk out as Mr & Mrs Benny Fish, she walked out and held us up because she knew she was suppose to pick the petels up after throwing them out. It was so precious! The crowd loved it. luv ya Michelle <><

  2. OK DOUG AND I HAD AN AWESOME SURPRISED AT OUR WEDDING. I MET AND BECAME FRIENDS WITH A GIRL FROM DENMARK. AS WE CHATTED ABOUT MY UPCOMING WEDDING SHE ASKED MANY QUESTIONS SUCH AS ARE WE GOING ON A HONEYMOON ? WHAT DO WE DO AFTER THE WEDDING ? WHAT KINDS OF TRADITIONS DO WE HAVE? OK SO AFTER OUR VOWS WE WENT DOWN THE AISLE AS MR AND MRS DOUGLAS MCFARLAND AND WE WERE AT THE FRONT PART OF THE OLD PART OF RAIFORD FORDS CHURCH . TO RECEIVE A HUG OR CONGRATS OR WHAT EVER FROM OUR GUESTS. WE DIDN'T HAVE A HUGE WEDDING BUT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. IN THE "RECEIVING LINE" ON THE FRONT STEPS / PORCH OF THE CHURCH MY MOM STOOD THERE AS WE SPOKE TO OUR GUESTS. ONE GIRL SAID ( IN A DANISH ACCENT) HI TAMMY !! I SAID HI... I LOOKED AT HER NOT KNOWING WHO IT WAS... UNTIL IT HIT ME.. IT WAS OUR FRIEND FROM DENMARK THAT WE HAD NEVER MET... SHE HAD FLEW OVER ON HER OWN TO SURPRISE US.. I HAVE THE PICTURE TO SHOW THE MOMENT WHEN I SCREAMED ? JULIE ??? THE LOOK WAS PRICELESS AND I CAN'T REMEMBER WHO TOOK THE PICTURE BUT IT WAS PERFECT. WHEN I STARTED CRYING/YELLING HER NAME MY DAD CAME OUT AND SAID WHAT IS GOING ON? IN THE MEAN TIME THE LOOK ON MY MOMA'S FACE WAS PRICELESS AND TEARS WERE ALL AROUND. SHE SPENT A FEW DAYS WITH US BEFORE GOING BACK TO DENMARK... I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SURPRISED ABOUT ANYTHING IN MY WHOLE LIFE.... WE NEVER DID GO ON A HONEYMOON..... BUT WE HAVE AN AWESOME MARRIAGE....

  3. Okay, I didn't witness this but I did read about it. A couple had a seriously laid back wedding and for the reception, instead of a cake and a receiving line, the bride and groom donned aprons and served ice cream sundaes to their guests (I mean, you're only gonna wear that dress once right? Might as well enjoy it!). I don't know if that's something I'd want to do, but I do want to have a fun, relaxed reception and ice cream sundaes are just that.

  4. When my soon to be husband would give me flowers, I would hang them to dry. On our wedding day, the flower girl dropped the dried petals as a symbol of leaving behind the past and entering the future as one. ;) Loved it!

  5. It would be that my aunt and I share the same wedding day just a few hours apart. My family came up to NC and TN for a family reunion and we had a double wedding hers in TN and mine in NC. So every year we call each and we can never forget our anniversary. Jessica K.
